Hi Lora, this is Susie. Your younger sister Mary told me that you were ill. You were not at school today and I want to tell you about our lessons. The first lesson was English. We read a text about London and described a picture of an American farm.

I learned interesting things about farm animals. Our English teacher asked us to write a text about a town in Russia at home. The second lesson was maths. We solved five mathematical problems. Two problems were very difficult and three problems were easy.

The teacher asked us to solve three problems at home. I think you can help me because you know maths very well. After maths, we had PE and music. They are my favourite lessons because I am good at sport and I like to sing very much.

I hope you will come to school soon. Bye.

My name is Lily and this is my sister Daisy. I am eleven and Daisy is nine. We love drawing pictures and making things with our hands.

A year ago we lived in a flat and we could not paint big pictures on the walls. Our room was very small. Our parents put our drawings on the fridge door, but we wanted a bigger place for our art.

Then our family moved to a new house with a big attic. It was full of old boxes, books and furniture. The sisters were very happy because they could use the old things for their art projects. «The attic is not clean and it is very dusty», said our mother. «We must clean it up».

One Saturday we came home from our art class and saw that the attic was clean and tidy with nice shelves. «No more old things for our projects», we said. We were sad. «Don’t be sad», said our father. «I will show you what we have found.» We followed our father and saw a surprise. A big old trunk stood in the corner of the attic. It was there all the time, but we couldn’t see it because of the old boxes. «It will be our treasure chest for art supplies», we said.
