Hello, my name is Sofia, and I want to tell you about my favorite holiday, New Year. As for me and my family, we think that New Year is a family holiday and all we spend it together.
We start preparing for this holiday at the end of December. It’s always very important to choose the right presents for the family and friends. We usually tell each other what we want for a gift, but sometimes we give each other surprise presents. It’s my favorite part of the New Year’s preparations because I like to look out for perfect gifts for my family.
Before New Year’s Day, we always clean our house. I like to decorate the house with paper snowflakes. My sister always helps me.
When it’s almost midnight, we gather at the table to say goodbye to the outgoing year and to wish the best to each other. It’s a family tradition to watch a holiday concert on TV and to listen to the President’s speech.

Easter Fun
Easter is a happy and colourful holiday that many people celebrate around the world. It usually happens in spring, when flowers start to bloom and the weather gets warmer. Easter is a time for families to come together and enjoy fun activities.
One of the most popular Easter traditions is the Easter egg hunt. Parents hide colourful eggs outside in the garden or park. Children try to find the eggs, they think it’s fun. The eggs can be real eggs that are painted in bright colours or plastic eggs filled with small toys or candies. Finding eggs is exciting and fun for kids of all ages.
Another fun activity is decorating Easter eggs. People use paints, stickers, and markers to make beautiful decorations on the eggs. Some families have special egg-decorating kits that make painting eggs easy and creative. This is a great way to spend time with family and show your imagination.
On Easter Sunday many families enjoy a special meal together. Traditional dishes often include ham, bread, and sweet desserts like cakes or cookies shaped like rabbits and chickens. These treats make the holiday even more special.
In some places people also have Easter parades or festivals. They wear colourful clothes and sometimes dress up as Easter bunnies or chickens. Music, dancing, and games make these events lively and joyful.
Easter is not only about fun but also about kindness and new beginnings. It reminds people to be hopeful and to enjoy time with their loved ones. If you like hunting for eggs, decorating them, or just spending time with family, Easter is a wonderful holiday full of happiness.
