The first vacuum cleaner was designed in 1869. Since then, vacuum cleaners have changed a lot. Nowadays the robot vacuum cleaner is getting more and more popular. This device cleans a house automatically. Following a programme, the robot drives slowly around the house and makes it cleaner. It operates with brushes and a tube. The robot is so flexible that it can get under a table or sofa or reach dust in corners. Some advanced models can also wash floors of all kinds. These functions are provided by a complicated electronic system and sensors inside. The vacuum cleaner looks like a plate and can be kept in the corner. It is friendly to children and animals and works on electricity.

I.

Good afternoon.

I will talk about animals. In my region there are animals like squirrels and birds. I think it’s bad to keep a wild animal at home. Zoos are built for people to see animals. I like zoos. They are interesting. We must be kind to animals.

That’s all.

II.

Good afternoon. Today I’d like to talk about animals, which are very interesting creatures on our planet.

First of all, we should discuss animals. Animals can be wild and domestic. For example, in different regions there are different animals. Where I live, there are some wild animals too. They live in forests and parks. So, animals are around us.

Now, about keeping them. Some people think one thing, other people think another thing. It’s an interesting question. Wild animals are not like cats or dogs. They are different. So, the idea might be not very good, or maybe good for some people. It depends.

Why do we have zoos? Well, zoos are places where animals are. People come to zoos to look at animals. Cities build them so that people can come. It’s simple. It’s for visiting.

My attitude is that I have been to a zoo. I remember going there. I saw animals there. Some were big, some were small. It was an experience. So, zoos exist, and we can go there if we want.

In the end, animals are part of nature, and nature is important. We share the planet with them. That’s what I think about this topic. Thank you.

III.

Good afternoon. Today I’d like to talk about animals and our relationship with them.

To begin with, I live in the central part of Russia, so the wild animals in my region are quite typical for this climate. We have foxes, hares, squirrels, and various birds like sparrows, crows, and woodpeckers. In forests nearby, you can also encounter elk, wild boars, and sometimes even wolves, though they usually stay away from populated areas.

Now, regarding keeping a wild animal as a pet—I believe it’s generally a bad idea. Wild animals have specific needs that are hard to meet in a home environment. They are not domesticated, so they can be unpredictable, potentially dangerous, and often suffer in captivity. Moreover, removing them from their natural habitat harms ecosystems.

As for why people build zoos in cities and towns, I think the main reasons are education, conservation, and entertainment. Zoos allow city dwellers, especially children, to see animals they would never encounter otherwise. Many modern zoos also participate in breeding programs for endangered species and research.

Personally, my attitude toward zoos is mixed. On the one hand, I appreciate their educational role and conservation efforts. On the other hand, I feel sad when I see animals in small enclosures that don’t resemble their natural habitats. I believe that if zoos exist, they must provide excellent care, large spaces, and natural conditions for their inhabitants.

In conclusion, while it’s fascinating to observe wild animals, we should respect their nature and support their well-being, whether in the wild or in responsible captivity. Thank you for listening.
